rewinding on meeting folk not where they are

On my other 'legs' blog I wrote a heart-full post about not meeting folk where they are. Now - naturally - I'm rephrasing that!
'Meet folk where you both are: reality, 'this' and not where I think either of us are...'
This is a truly worst case scenario if you think you have autonomy to change people and their ideas! But not if you meet them in your 'kin-dom'[see last post]. They may well be in a thinking 'king-dom' bordered or even barricaded by stories. My/your kin-dom can accommodate that since it's infinite and all inclusive...
As my friend Byron Katie says in '1,000 Words for Joy' (recommended especially if you love The Tao'), 'Reality is very clear when your mind is clear...' and 'As you lose the filter that I call a story, you begin to see reality as it is: simple, brilliant, and kinder than you could have imagined.'
A REALLY subtle story I've been telling myself is that my life would be so much better if people didn't tell stories... that's a story!!! Does it assist me? Is it true? Very interesting and funny now absorbed...
